Welcome to missionfestival.no, the new home for all things related to the Mission Festival in Bergen, Norway! Missionfestival.no has been created as a hub for the missional community in Bergen to find information about the annual festival, to discover local and international Christian missions opportunities, and to be encouraged by the testimonies from teams who have recently returned from outreach. Our desire is that you would be encouraged, challenged, inspired, and equipped to go into missions!
On missionfestival.no, you will find four main pages: About Us, The Conference, Mission Trips, and News. I invite you to take some time to browse each of these pages and see what they have to offer.
The About Us page (Om Oss)
The About Us page gives you our vision and a quick summary of the history of the Mission Festival, explaining our heart behind the festival from the beginning. You will also find a list of the many partner organizations in Bergen that contribute in so many ways, not only at the festival but throughout the year.
The Conference page (Konferansen)
This is where you will find information on the upcoming annual conference — or festival, as we affectionately call it. The Mission Festival is an extended weekend event held at the beginning of the students’ fall break. Each year, our festival includes worship services with guest speakers who are influential to the Christian mission field. We also host seminars led by local leaders, a Saturday Outreach, and more!
The Conference page will give you the details of the upcoming festival and a chance to register. Our festival is completely free, but by inviting you to register it helps us to estimate just how large of an audience we will have.
The Mission Trips page (Misjonsturer)
This page is the heart and soul of why MISSION exists. We want to see an exponential increase in the number of missionaries and mission teams being sent out from Bergen and Norway! You will be able to browse the many opportunities that are available to you, whether they are local or international. The details of each opportunity will be there, including dates, locations, their purposes for going, the costs, and how to join.
As of this writing, there are no trips listed on the Mission Trips page. However, we are aware of several opportunities that are being developed and will be added very soon! Many of these trips are being planned during the fall break, but it is not limited to just that week. Opportunities throughout the year will be posted. We hope to also have ongoing outreach projects that you can be a part of. So check out this page often and find a team to join!
The News page (Nyheter)
The News page is not just a place to find news about MISSION. It is first and foremost a place to read, watch, and hear about personal testimonies from those who have recently gone on mission trips! Because our goal is to encourage, challenge, inspire, and equip you for missions, we wanted to make it possible to do that not just one weekend out of the year, but throughout the year at any given time and at your convenience. We want to keep you updated on trips that have taken place and let you know about the awesome ways God moved within the team as well as the people they reached out to.
